I’m a millennial who consumed The Shawshank Redemption in one sitting right after seeing the movie, and it blew my mind—not just as a story, but as a window into post-war New England. Novel’s Everyday Heroes Inspire Tech Accessibility Mission
For me, it was All the Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr. I’m not a historian, but reading about World War II from the << point of view of a blind French girl and a German soldier offered me a different lens through which to understand how ordinary people lived through extreme upheaval. It wasn’t just fights and commanders — it was radios, kitchens and, ultimately, small decisions that determined survival.
This philosophy has driven me at EVhype. Technology for EV adoption feels like a “macro” mission a lot of the time, but the novel reminded me that impact is felt in the micro of day-to-day reliance. When we upgraded our app with more voice navigational features and higher-contrast modes, I thought about that book. It revealed to me that history is about whether someone can access information at the moment they need it.
