Here now are the winners of the BREW Children’s Book Excellence Award 2026, outstanding children’s books that spark imagination, encourage curiosity and offer young readers meaningful and engaging experiences.
This year’s winners represent four distinctive approaches to children’s storytelling, from cultural discovery and fantasy adventure to social-emotional learning and bilingual storytelling.

Category: Fantasy
Winner: Journey to Superhero School by Gracie Dix
Twin siblings Oliver and Jessica discover that they have superpowers and must tackle the excitemen and challenge of becoming young superheroes while keeping their extraordinary abilities secret.
Category: Bilingual Children’s Literature
Winner: Pablo by Mar Andersons
A colourful children’s story that celebrates language, culture and connection, Pablo demonstrates the power of bilingual storytelling to bring young readers and different worlds together.
