Thank you for stopping by. See you around again! All the best.
In dusty saloons where tumbleweeds roam,
And beneath starlit skies, where cowboys call home,
There’s a tale to be told, of poetry’s plight,
For in academic halls, it’s shunned from the light.
With boots worn and hats tipped low,
We spin yarns of the trail, where stories flow,
Yet in the ivory towers, they scoff and they sneer,
At our rhymes of the range, they won’t lend an ear.
They say “real” poetry dwells in sonnets and verse,
With elegant words, they aim to converse,
But we, with our lassos and spurs of steel,
We craft our own tales, with a cowboy’s zeal.
Our poems ride the range, through canyons wide,
With rhythms of hoofbeats, our hearts as our guide,
Though academia may turn up its nose,
We’ll keep spinning yarns, as the sunset glows.
For our poetry lives in the wind’s soft sigh,
And in the crackle of campfires, under the sky,
So let them debate in their towers of stone,
While we’ll sing our songs, in the cowboy’s own.
What a delightful ode to cowboy poetry! It captures the spirit of the West with vivid imagery and a rhythm as lively as a campfire dance. Keep spinning those yarns and embracing the essence of the range! Better yet, submit it for the BREW Poetry Award. Who knows, the judges may be impressed just as I am. Cheers! 🤠🌵🔥
