Building a successful blog takes sheer determination and countless hours of effort. Creating a blog is akin to building the home of our dreams. It takes grit, patience, and optimism. It is not as simple as some people think. The Chrysalis BREW Project hopes to recognize your hard work and make sure that your blog stands out in the multitude.
As computers are becoming more and more commonplace in today’s times, the internet has opened myriad doors for the billions of people inhabiting the world. Standing in 2022, many of us would find it quite impossible to fathom the trials some had to undergo to launch blogs and websites back in the 1990s or even the 2000s. In the not-so-distant past, only a few people were fortunate enough to successfully launch their dream blogs. Justin Hall was one such person. In 1994, he came up with the simple but indigenous idea of maintaining an inventory of all the HTML examples that he came across from various online links on a website called links.net. This prompted the New York Times Magazine to hail him as the “founding father of personal bloggers.” John Barger coined the term ‘blog’ when he named his website ‘The Robert Wisdom Weblog’ back in 1997. It was only in 1999 that the word ‘blog’ became commonplace when Peter Merholz added a witty tagline on his own weblog. He wrote, “I’ve decided to pronounce the word “weblog” as wee’blog. Or “blog” for short.”
In its early stages, blogs were nothing but a collection of online links to guide users across the wide unknown of the world wide web. Bloggers often added commentaries about these links. Gradually, like every other thing, blogging evolved. Blogs became akin to an online diary or journal. It became a platform where people could give voice to their thoughts and opinions. From writers to fan groups to business owners, blogs provide a great avenue for all. It is an amazing medium to put oneself out there and reach millions. Even today, the art of blogging is still evolving.
With technology at our fingertips, people nowadays can do just about anything with enough determination and a click of the mouse. Consequently, there are billions of blogs and websites all over the internet. In a manner of speaking, the presence of a large number of blogs has made it paramount for us to make sure that our blog catches our audience’s eyes even when in a throng. The need to reach the masses is key to a blog’s success.

I love this idea of giving out awards for bloggers Kajori. Really neat. Always a good deal to give blogs the love these sites deserve. Back when I began blogging in 2008 there was no awards or anything like that. Blogging was still in its infancy compared to now. Awesome to see how this niche has evolved over the decades. Onward and upward, fellow bloggers.
