Synopsis

One occurrence can have repercussions that are catastrophic for a great number of people’s life, just like a pebble dropped in a pond.

It is the year 1330 in England, and the scene takes place on a sprawling estate in Devonshire. There, a young and naive woman named Joan de Conteigh is ready to wed Sir John de Chiddleigh, a man she has never met.

As Joan adjusts to her new position as Lady of the Manor, she comes to the realisation that Sir John is a ruthless and ambitious man. In order to combat her feelings of isolation and neglect, she starts up an unofficial connection with Annie, who works in the kitchen. Annie, on the other hand, is keeping a dreadful and dark secret from everyone. As the two people’s relationship grows closer, Joan finds that she is becoming more and more enmeshed in a web of falsehoods that has the potential to tear her and Sir John apart, endanger the Chiddleigh estate, and forever alter the lives of those involved.

Will Joan make it through this or will she perish and be forced to fend for herself?

No One Must Know, Book 1 of the Chiddleigh Saga, is a captivating historical drama that includes twists and plots that keep you wondering until the very end.

As a caterpillar goes out of its dark cocoon, grows its wings, and flies high up in the sky, I acknowledge my role in the entire process of the written word's metamorphosis through The Chrysalis BREW Project. I believe that beauty and goodness exist in everything and everyone - may we let that emerge and shine in each word we read, concoct, write, or share.

  1. Oh, my! This convoluted story seems to have everything: mistaken identities, friendship, war, and secrets from the past. It appears to be a memorable historical novel.
