Aleksandra Tryniecka is the award-winning author of “Bunky and the Walms: The Christmas Story.” Know more about her in this interview.

Did you love reading books when you were little? Why or why not?

I adored reading since the youngest age. My Mum taught me how to read and write at the age of 4.

At what age did you start reading books? What were your best memories of that time?

I started reading at the age of 4 and I have never stopped. The best memories are from the time when I was reading “The Chronicles of Narnia” with my Mum!

What was the first book you loved reading? Why?

I don’t recall the first book I ever loved reading, but I do remember “The Chronicles of Narnia” by C.S. Lewis invited me into a new reality of literary possibilities – the multi-layered world of meanings, characters and stories which I have cherished until this day!

When did you first think about writing your first book? Why?

At the age of 4 – I wanted to become a writer so badly! I wrote the book entitled “The Fate of a Hedgehog”.

What was the greatest obstacle you’ve encountered when you were writing your book? What made you overcome it?

The greatest obstacle was that I was not fully convinced how to spell all the words correctly – after all, I was 4!

What pieces of advice can you give aspiring authors? What worked for you?

Surround yourself with your literary world, make friends with your characters and keep drinking tea while writing! 🙂

Who are the authors or books that had the greatest influence in your own writing? Why?

C.S, Lewis, Lewis Carroll and Tove Jansson.

What are your future writing plans?

I would like to offer my Readers Bunky’s further adventures. Moreover, I am writing a book about the Victorian women!

  1. I’d like to read “The Fate of a Hedgehog.” 😛 I wonder if the author still keeps that as a memory. And I love stories that take place during the Victorian era!

    1. Dear Fermosaula, thank you so much! Absolutely! I have “The Fate of Hedgehog” until this day! 🙂 Thank you so much! You are so kind! My book about the Victorian women will be discussing different literary portraits of the Victorian female protagonists, but my idea is to present them as if I were telling the Readers a story! Hopefully it works out! 🙂 All the best wishes! Aleksandra and Bunky – the Christmas Hero ;-):-)

      1. Those are very precious memories! I’ll be waiting for that book about Victorian protagonists, it seems fascinating!
