The Chrysalis BREW Project Reveals BREW Children’s Book Excellence Award 2024 Winners

The BREW Children’s Book Excellence Award has announced the winners of the 2024 awards, as it recognises outstanding contributions to children’s literature. This year’s winners span a variety of categories, each celebrating the unique ways these books enrich the lives of young readers.

Nature Ninja Saves the Natural World by Tania Moloney gets the Nature Book of the Year category title and the prestigious overall BREW Children’s Book Excellence Award 2024 Book of the Year award. Moloney’s work is celebrated for its vibrant eco-adventure that not only fascinates children but also inspires them to become nature heroes, showing how small actions in their own backyards can make a big difference for the planet.

Here are the other victors:

  • Kathleen J. Shields wins the Inspirational Book of the Year category title for The First Unicorn, a touching story about Aden, a young horse who becomes the first unicorn. Despite initial rejection, Aden’s golden horn brings miracles and inspires others through his acts of love and kindness.
  • In the Teamwork Book of the Year category, Aaron Derr gains recognition for Building a Team: Baseball Buddies Book 1, a delightful story that highlights the importance of collaboration and sportsmanship.
  • The Technology Book of the Year category title goes to Amber Ivey for AI… Meets… AI, an innovative book that introduces children to the world of artificial intelligence in a way that is both accessible and entertaining.
  • Grace A. Wolf wins the Kindness Book of the Year award for her book May I Come to Your Party?, a touching story that encourages inclusivity and the value of kindness in everyday interactions.
  • Isabela Sardas, Ph.D.‘s Belle And Chloe: Reflections In The Mirror is honoured as the Family Book of the Year for its heartfelt depiction of family bonds and the journey of trauma and recovery.
  • The Empathy Book of the Year award goes to Sheila Eve Arad for A Different Lens, a powerful narrative that fosters understanding and compassion among young readers.
  • In the category of Self-Confidence Book of the Year, Azizi Tuere is celebrated for I’m Beautiful Because I Am, a book that empowers children by promoting self-love and confidence.
  • Newton Vanriel wins the Diversity Book of the Year award with The Soul Sistas Go To School, a story that celebrates diversity and the strength found in embracing our differences.
  • Zivile Cecilia Brubeck is honoured with the Friendship Book of the Year award for Thomas the Terrible Tomcat Needs a Friend, a charming story about the importance of friendship and the joy of companionship.
  • For her enchanting tale Bunky and the Summer Wish, Aleksandra Tryniecka obtains the Adventure Book of the Year, a category honouring books that spark the imagination and sense of adventure in children.
  • A New Family for Tate by Erika L Turner receives the Illustrated Book of the Year award for its stunning visuals that perfectly complement a heartfelt story about finding love and belonging.
  • Recognised as the BREW Children’s Book Excellence Award 2024 Publisher of the Year, Nurture in Nature Books has earned acclaim for their dedication to publishing high-quality, impactful children’s literature, highlighted by the top award-winning Nature Ninja Saves the Natural World by Tania Moloney.

The BREW Children’s Book Excellence Award continues to uphold its commitment to celebrating literary works that not only entertain but also educate and inspire the younger generation. Congratulations to all the 2024 winners!
