Synopsis

When Frederick Douglass Reynolds was younger, he found himself on a path of destruction. At that time, he lived on the streets. He dealt with drugs and gangs. He even ended up in jail. Oddly enough, he chose to become a police officer. As a Black man, he also found himself on both sides of the law. Basing on his experiences, he was able to write with a truly unique perspective and transparency to readers. With this tome, he highlights the intricacies of how society works in different ways for different situations. Regardless of mistakes in his life, Reynolds eventually shows it’s possible to turn one’s life around. He illustrates how someone can do some good if willing to make that change.

No matter what someone’s gender, race, or political views are, any reader will be able to take these life experiences and learn the reality of racism in America through the author’s eyes and by walking in his footsteps.
