Cacophony

BREW Poetry Award Nominee - Open Category / by The Contributing Writer / 337 views

  • Listing ID: 36598
  • Poetry Author's Name: K.J. Poesy
  • Poem: What life I've caused to break,
What life I've been forced to live in.
And if under my breasts beats muscle,
I've never had use for its rhythm.

For these caustic souls may know
That my life was just for the image,
And that to do any deeper living
I'd first have to find a reason.

I wear through where my agony's showing,
A ladder in soul and a matching in stockings.
Good company I fear I'll never keep
A snagging of thoughts on the thorn of my teeth.

And the voices that revolt within my head
Leave me lacking persistence and the greed to forget,
    So I remain as all of humanity should;
As a body lacking meaning, and existence without reason.
  • Poet's Bio: K.J. Poesy is a writer from the coast of Western Australia, determined to empty the mind regardless of what remains. With over twenty novels tucked in the desk drawer and two up for publishing, the poems tend to escape.
