“It wasn’t until I started reading and found books they wouldn’t let us read in school that I discovered you could be insane and happy and have a good life without being like everybody else.”

― John Waters

John Waters is known for his edgy films and quirky sense of humor. However, I am not totally sure which of John Waters’ works this quote is from, but it’s classic Waters – bold, unconventional, and totally unapologetic.

And Waters’ words make sense. He’s talking about the power of books to open our minds and show us that it’s okay to be different, to embrace our quirks, and to carve out our own path in life.

When and where conformity often feels like the norm, Waters’ words are a breath of fresh air. They remind us that happiness isn’t about fitting in or playing by the rules – it’s about being true to ourselves and embracing our unique selves, even if that means dancing to the beat of our own drum.

How about you? What do you think? Do you agree with this quote? I’m looking forward to knowing your thoughts.
