“I think we ought to read only the kind of books that wound and stab us.”

― Franz Kafka

Kafka’s serving up some deep thoughts with this one, isn’t he? It’s like he’s nudging us to embrace the uncomfortable, to dive into the books that really make us feel something – even if it’s a bit painful.

But you know what? There’s wisdom in that discomfort. Sometimes, it’s the books that shake us to our core that teach us the most about ourselves and the world around us. They challenge our beliefs, push us out of our comfort zones, and ultimately help us grow.

So, let’s approach those tough reads with an open heart and a curious mind. Instead of shying away from the discomfort, let’s lean into it, knowing that on the other side, there’s growth, understanding, and maybe even a little bit of healing. After all, it’s through the wounds that we find our strength and resilience.

How about you? What do you think? Do you agree with this quote? I’m looking forward to knowing your thoughts.
